We specialise in the production and development of carbon fibre solutions to improve strength, reduce weight, improve fatigue resistance and corrosion resistance of connecting cables and ropes. The cables are used as alternatives to steel and to improve on the characteristics of steel.
The carbon fibre cable have applications in bridges, military, medical, marine and deep sea oil exploration.
Carbon fibre cables can be short for medical use or long enough to reach deep sea floor environments. Cables may have protective barriers or coatings applied and termination blocks are built into the design for anchorage.
Carbon fibre Cable elements made of PAN (Polyacrylonitrile) based carbon fibre. The fibre is used in prepreg tow form that is stranded to produce a primary strand. A specilaity coating is applied to the surface of the strand and then multiple strands are twisted in the S or Z direction. The entire assembly is heated to provide adhesion between the coatings and the resin which encompasses individual strands. The cured carbon fibre cable is available in single strands and cables using 7, 19 and 37 strands.
